Xpatconnect doesn’t ask any membership fees, but facilitating this and building new service modules cost serious money. If you desire to contribute a donation on a voluntary base, we’ll be more than grateful.

Here's your first Dutch word: doneren = donate now. After all, we invented the expression 'going Dutch' didn't we?

Latest News from HQ

We are almost operational, but are still in need of volunteers who want to help us organize things and walk the talk. the reward is you'll meet a lot of people along the way and feel more involved in our country.

X A M P L E : Xpatable Dinner Tryout: an informal 3 course Dutch meal.

Xpatconnect invites you to participate in our ‘xpatable’ informal dining tryout. (as we had to prospone our official start, we'll make new arrangements as soon as we are live. Please consider this text as a specimin of things we want to provide.) we offer you the taste of traditional Dutch winter kitchen. Solid food, so you’ll only need to eat breakfast the rest of the week. The three course choice menu varies, but here’s an impression: two soups like ‘snert with rookworst’ (pea soup with smoked sausage), brown bean soup with pieces of bacon, three main dishes like hete bliksem met schenkel (hot thunder with legs), stew with homemade meatballs, sauerkraut with bacon and Elzasser sausage, endive stew with bacon and egg or a solid hazenpeper (hares pepper). To prevent you from going home overheated, there’s an Apple pie with ice cream as a dessert.
We will give you a free glass of glühwine as an aperitif and offer you unlimited usage of the luxurious restrooms.
The modest price of this menu is € 16,50. (Just as cheap as 10 liters wallpaper glue at the Gamma across the street.) The drinks are also for own expense, but we stimulate ‘winepooling’ by ordering the wine by the bottle and share the costs. After all we invented the expression ‘going Dutch’!
‘Happy hour’ starts at 5 pm and the meal will be served approx 6 pm. Typical bourgeois Dutch would be 5:30 pm, but as a courtesy we delayed it slightly.
For vegetarians there’s always the possibility to order ‘a la carte’ but John, the chef, would like to know it advance.
Our special xpatable corner fits 26 persons at two long conversation tables, so RSVP (reserve your seat) as soon as possible by mailing to info@xpatconnect.nl

Please state your name and email address and click on your choices. If we get more positive response than we can seat, we'll book extra tables.

Are the Dutch hospitable, kind and tolerant or are they blunt, impolite and inhospitable? 1 Reply
